National Youth Day Celebrations

In connection with National Youth Day, following programmes were conducted:

1. ‘Vivekananda ShobhaYatra’: First Shobha Yatra was conducted on 31st December 2019 (9:00 to 10:00 am) at Vijayawada in which about 550 students, teachers from various schools and admirers participated. After garlanding Swamiji’s statue at Raghavaiah Park, the procession went up to Gandhinagar City Centre.

2. Second Shobha Yatra followed by Bhajans and a meeting was conducted on 12th January 2020 (8:30 to 10:45 am) at Sitanagaram starting from the Ramakrishna Mission High School, going around the locality and returning back, in which about 500 students, teachers of Ramakrishna Mission High School, Sitanagaram and admirers participated. Swami Sevyanandaji, Ramakrishna Mission, Vijayawada addressed the gathering.

3. On 12th January, Swamiji’s statue at Raghavaiah Park, Vijayawada was garlanded by Swami Vishwarajananda, Ramakrishna Mission, Vijayawada. 50 students, teachers of Ramakrishna Mission High School, Sitanagaram and admires participated.

4. The Department of Youth Services, Government of Andhra Pradesh conducted ‘District and State Level Competitions’ for youth covering all the 13 districts of Andhra Pradesh in Essay Writing, Elocution etc. based on Swami Vivekananda’s literature and organized a special program on 12th January 2020 (10:00 am to 12:30 pm) at ‘Thummalapallivari Kshetrayya Kalakshetram’, Vijayawada on the occasion of National Youth Day Celebrations. 500 winners in competitions were invited for the program, handed over the mementos and certificates by Sri M. Srinivasa Rao, Honb’le Minister for Tourism, Culture & Youth Advancement Department, Sri M. Vishnu, Honb’le MLA for Vijayawada Central, Smt. C. Nagarani, I.A.S, Director, Youth Services, Govt. of AP & Managing Director, Andhra Pradesh Society for Training and Employment Promotion (APSTEP), Sri A.M.D. Imtiaz, I.A.S, Collector & District Magistrate, Krishna District, Swami Sevyanandaji, Ramakrishna Mission, Vijayawada, Smt. K. Hampi, Rapid World Chess Champion. Swami Sevyanandaji addressed the gathering amongst other dignitaries during the program.
